NGO tops up reward for info on dog skinned alive to RM51,000
Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM) has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of those who skinned a dog alive in Krubong, Melaka, to RM51,000.
At a press conference which it jointly held with the Melaka Fursave Association today, it said a “concerned businessman” had put up the additional RM30,000 reward money.
It said the initial reward amount of RM21,100 came from donations contributed by the public and businesses.
“This is to encourage individuals to provide relevant information regarding the animal cruelty case and come forward and help identify and apprehend the perpetrators.” SAFM said in a statement later.
On Sunday, Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said police were investigating the case under the Animal Welfare Act 2015 after a report was lodged that afternoon.
