
Police arrested seven men, aged between 15 and 50, in connection with the commotion that occurred during the eviction of 37 terraced houses at Kampung Sungai Baru here on Thursday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said six of them are being held under remand until tomorrow, while another, aged 26, has been charged in court.
“He pleaded guilty and has been released after paying a fine of RM1,500. Police will apply for an extension of the remand for the others to continue the investigation.
“Some of those arrested have criminal records for housebreaking and other cases,” he told a press conference last night.
Fadil said three investigation papers have been opened under sections 186, 353 and 324 of the Penal Code.
