Ex-health DG to take legal action against fake FB account
Former health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says he is taking legal action against those behind a fake Facebook account using his name to sell a health product.
In a post on the social media platform today, he shared screenshots of a Facebook account with the name “Tan Sri DrNoor HishamAbdullah”, using a photograph of him as its profile picture.
The post, which advertises “Bee Venom Joint Healing Cream”, shared photographs of Noor Hisham holding the product, apparently generated by AI.
“The images are so real and many are being fooled.
“Let me be clear: these claims are completely false and I am taking immediate legal action against those responsible.
“Let this serve as a warning to anyone who engages in such malicious acts. Please do not be fooled by this irresponsible misinformation,” he said in his Facebook post.
