Anwar approves RM10mil immediate aid for Sabah flood victims
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has approved an RM10 million allocation to be distributed to flood victims in Sabah through the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
Anwar said these funds are on top of some RM11 million channelled through the Sabah state government.
He said he had also ordered the federal government’s machinery to be mobilised to assist victims and to ensure aid reaches them without hindrance.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety, welfare and survival of the flood victims by giving them immediate attention.
“The Madani government will ensure that every affected family will receive aid promptly. I urge all parties to unite and work together to help the rakyat,” he said in a Facebook post.
Heavy rain in Sabah has caused floods in Penampang and Beaufort, with over 400 people evacuated to shelters.
