
A Bersatu division leader has rejected calls for party Supreme Council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan to be sacked following his attack on secretary-general Azmin Ali last week.
Pasir Salak Bersatu chief Zainol Fadzi Paharudin said the calls were inappropriate as they pre-empt the disciplinary board’s investigation process.
“I believe the calls involve unsubstantiated accusations and are motivated by vested interests in specific parties,” he said in a statement today.
Zainol said members should submit complaints directly to the party and not air them in public. He said the role of the disciplinary board is to investigate and suggest appropriate actions and not merely mete out punishment.
