PETALING JAYA:

The Shah Alam High Court has issued an interim gag order to bar defence minister Khaled Nordin and his ministry from issuing statements regarding the death of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin.

Justice Adlin Abdul Majid issued the interim order following an application by Syamsul’s mother, Ummu Haiman Bee Daulatgun, 45, Berita Harian reported.

Her lawyer Naran Singh said the interim order was effective until Sept 26 pending a sworn statement from the minister promising not to comment any further on the case.

Naran said Sept 26 was the next case management date.
