
The government is taking steps to expedite the release of nine Malaysians detained by Israeli forces while taking part in the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens to Gaza (FFC x TMTG) humanitarian mission.
Foreign minister Mohamad Hasan said Wisma Putra has contacted the Turkish authorities and US deputy secretary of state Christopher Landau to seek assistance in securing their release.
“We will make every effort to bring the nine activists home as soon as possible, just as we successfully secured the release of 23 Malaysians previously detained during the Global Sumud Flotilla mission,” he said during a Gaza solidarity rally at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, tonight.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was also present.
