
Opposition chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan today said that Perikatan Nasional (PN) was not involved in the lawsuit brought by lawyer P Waytha Moorthy against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He said the lawsuit was brought personally by Waytha, the Malaysian Advancement Party president.
“As Malaysians, we respect his right to bring this matter to court. Let the courts decide the matter,” he told a press conference at the Dewan Rakyat.
Two days ago, Pakatan Harapan (PH) MP Syahredzan Johan asked whether the suit filed by Waytha was connected to his recent meeting with Bersatu leaders.
Waytha, along with the leaders of other political parties outside the government bloc, had met Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin to discuss the formation of a united opposition front.
