Police seize over 3.5 tonnes of drugs
Police have seized 3,586.45kg of MDMA worth RM598.9 million in a series of Klang Valley raids linked to an international drug syndicate.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail said the drugs were processed locally and likely destined for both the domestic market and countries such as Indonesia and Australia.
He said raids by Bukit Aman’s narcotics crime investigation department of premises in Kepong and Selayang on Sept 10 led to the arrests of four local men aged 34 to 51.
Khalid said the drugs could have harmed more than 12 million people if they had reached the market, and that the syndicate had been operating since July by renting industrial premises and using them as drug labs.
