Probe paper on Zara Qairina’s death to be referred to AGC tomorrow
Federal police will refer its investigation paper into the death of Form 1 student Zara Qairina Mahathir to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) tomorrow.
Bukit Aman criminal investigation department (CID) director M Kumar said the cops will obtain the advice and direction of the AGC following the ongoing investigation by a special task force.
Kumar said 195 witnesses have given their statements, including students, teachers, medical officers, security guards, dorm wardens, Zara’s parents and other material witnesses.
Zara was found unconscious at 4am on July 16 after allegedly falling from the third floor of her school’s hostel in Papar, Sabah. She died at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital the following day.
