TH Plantations terminates CEO’s contract over ‘misconduct’

PETALING JAYA:

TH Plantations Bhd has terminated the contract of its CEO Zainurin Zain due to misconduct, the company announced today.

“The board of directors of the company wishes to announce that the contract of the CEO has been terminated today. A letter of termination has been duly issued to him today,” it said in an announcement on Bursa Malaysia.

In a separate announcement, the plantation arm of Lembaga Tabung Haji simply said Zainurin’s removal from the post was due to misconduct.

This comes a month after Zainurin and TH Plantations chief financial officer Marliyana Omar were served with show-cause letters over alleged unauthorised payments of RM5.1 million to plantation workers.

Zainurin was placed on garden leave while Marliyana chose to resign.
